a function m is defined by m:x=12/(1-x), x is not equal to k, find the value of k, i look at the answer and OMG, it is 1, explain please?

Do you mean m(x) = 12/(1 - x)?
If so, m is undefined at x = 1 because you have a 0 in the denominator.

m/x = 12/(1 - x)
m(1 - x) = 12x
m - mx = 12x
m = 12x + mx
m = x(12 + m)
m/ (12 + m) = x
m(1 - x) = 12x
m - mx = 12x
m = 12x + mx
m = x(12 + m)
m/ (12 + m) = x
