This is my first time doing this myself and i need help on this. Below is the snap shot of the work solution and i am stuck in the second of the work solution. Could someone explain to me how to get the (2x^2 + 3x - 2) + ( 5x + 7 ) / (2x^2 + 3x - 2) in the second line and what are things i should do that leds to the final answer??? Please do not skip steps. Thanks in advance.

Simply split 8x into (3x + 5x) and split 5 into (-2 + 7) then rearragne the terms.

2x^2 + 8x + 5 = 2x^2 + (3x + 5x) + (- 2 + 7) = 2x^2 + 3x - 2 + 5x - 7
