Are these two correct? If they aren't, please correct:
(-8)+(+16)=(-24)
(-9)+(-6)=(-3)

You can use the commutative property and switch this equation around to 16-8=? and the ? would be 8.
-9+-6=-15
This question can be thought of as you have 9 negatives plus 6 negatives which gives you 15 negatives (Think of "negatives" as an object-i.e. 9 bananas + 6 bananas = 15 bananas)

1.(+ 8)
2.(-15)

(-8)+(-16)=(-24)
(-9)+(+6)=(-3)

-8+16= 8
-9+(-6)= -15
