.Rent is usually $159.Then, here comes the $48 fuel assistance check in OCT.So, you pretty much get to subtract $48 from your $159and this is your new rent for the winter.......
With different numbers here, so I could really use some help in EASY math. I even tried a calculator and guess what...Get different numbers.

OK here we go....
Rent is usually $159.00
Then, here comes the $48 fuel assistance check in OCT. So, you pretty much get to subtract $48 from your $159 and this is your new rent for the winter.
Well in Oct, instead of sending in the $159, you send in $153 PLUS the $48 fuel asst. check. Now, you've paid $201.
In Nov. your rent goes up to $196 and you MINUS the $48 fuel asst and pay $148.
Dec. Rolls along and you think, hey, I over paid in OCT. so you send them a check for only $129, instead of $148.......what calculations do you all come up with that you over paid or under paid???
Thanks HELP PLZ

If I correctly understand the incoherent description............

Owed in October: 159 - 48 = 111
Paid in October: 153 + 48 = 201...........Overpayment = 201-111 = 90
Owed in November: 196 - 48 = 148
Paid in November: 148
Owed in December: 196 - 48 = 148
Paid in December: 129.........................Underpayment = 148 -129 = 19

Remaining overpayment = 90 - 19 = 71

$153+$48=$201. You paid $201 total. in October.

$196-$48=$148. You, yourself paid $148 in Nov.

$201-$159+$42. So in October, you overpaid by $42.

$196-$42=$154. I get that you should have paid $154 total for December because you overpaid $42 in October.

$159-$129=$30. You underpaid $30 in Dec.
