Hey, if I connect many things to my house's power supply will they work differently

itll bright more but wont last long.My question is about the opposite of that: if i connect a light to a ddp weaker that what is it set to be connected, will it last longer than what it is supposed to last?-Your house and most, if not all, other houses have a lead wire into them from the feeding branch line outside.......

Will, for example, the lights' bright be weaker?

Bonus question:
My book says that if I connect a light to a power supply with greater voltage, it'll bright more but won't last long.

Your house and most, if not all, other houses have a lead wire into them from the feeding branch line outside. That lead wire has a current capacity limit.

You can keep adding devices to your house circuit without noticeable effect so long as the total current drawn remains at or below the capacity limit of that lead wire. But when you reach or exceed that capacity limit, you will start to see lights dimming, devices running slower, and so on...all are indicators they are not getting their rated currents.

If you continue to add more devices after the dimming and slowing begin, you will likely blow a circuit breaker or equivalent fuse. Which is a good thing because, otherwise, an electrical fire might start somewhere where the current is exceeding the house wiring capacity.

And, yes, an incandescent bulb will burn longer than normal if the current through it is reduced. But of course you'll not be getting the rated intensity in lumens either.

BTW: The wiring in a house does put all the devices in parallel. That's true. But it's the lead in wire that is the limiting factor and that capacity can be exceeded by adding too many devices to the house wiring. We see this often when marijuana growers illegally add more and more sun lamps to their pot growing activities and eventually exceed the input capacity so a fire starts. I'd guess a fire like this happens about one or twice a year in the San Francisco area alone.
