I've suddenly forgotten how to work it out!
Here's an example:
A train ticket costs £23.50
The price increases by 6%.
What is the new price?
Here's an example:
A train ticket costs £23.50
The price increases by 6%.
What is the new price?
-
23.50 X 1.06
-
You multiply 23.50 times 0.06. Then you add the result to 23.50.
23.50 x 0.06 = 1.41 + 23.50 = 24.91
24.91 is the answer.
23.50 x 0.06 = 1.41 + 23.50 = 24.91
24.91 is the answer.

First, you find 6% of £23.30 which is £1.41, then just take the original amount (£23.50) and add 6% which gives you £24.91. Hope this helps...
