is this connected to the earth's rotation?
Do clocks also go clockwise on southern hemisphere or do they go anticlockwise there?

You can revers the motor in the clock to make it work counter-clockwise....some clocks in Bars and Taverns are purposely set up this was. Nothing to do with the Earth's rotation. or the hemisphere.
Now then, hurricanes, and whirlpools turn in opposite directions as you move from N to S hemispheres, and back.

Clocks go clockwise because they imitate the path of the sun across the sky, as seen in the northern hemisphere. And clocks (at least, the type with clock faces), were invented in the northern hemisphere.
They move in the same direction in the south, because northern clock makers exported them to the south.

they were made so they went that way cuz the original was made, and it happened to work and turned that direction. then everyone saw the popularity and began making the knock offs. then, the direction it turned was called clockwise, because thats the way clocks go. nowadays, we can make clocks go which way we want, but its widely accepted to have a clock going "clockwise"

erm no
its nothing to do with planetary movement - earths or otherwise
you can get clocks that go the other way but there is no difference between north and south hemisphere as far as im aware
