Ok so my teacher is using the scale example and told us to figure out this one problem. I worked with my friends and came up with this on my paper:
x+23 = 2x+45
x-x+23 = 2x-x+45
23 = x+45
23-45 = x+45-45
x = -22
Did I figure this out correctly? Or did I mess up? Errors?
x+23 = 2x+45
x-x+23 = 2x-x+45
23 = x+45
23-45 = x+45-45
x = -22
Did I figure this out correctly? Or did I mess up? Errors?

yes, u r correct. but, u want 2strt out with x on the left side.u subtract 23 from both sides to get: x = 2x + 22 then you subtract 2x from both sides to get: -x = 22. then u divide both sides by -1 (because there's actually a 1 in front of the variable) and yes, you get x = -22

Yes, you are correct.
