I have a lot of algebra homework where it takes the knowledge of finding the percent of a number or variable. Can someone explain in the easiest way possible how to do that?
For instance;
5% of x = (5/100)(x)
-Always
-Sometimes
-Never
I can try figuring it out but it throws me off. So please teach me how to find the percent of a number and variables like x in that form. Thanks.

5% of x = (5/100)(x) always.
Percent means 'out of every 100', so if you have x/100 that is x%. (3/100 = 3%).
3/20=15/100=15%
Also if you know the decimal, then just multiply by 100.
0.21 = 21%, 0.58=58%

umm.. easiest way try it-example_ 10% of 100=? ans- of means multyplication(*) nd % means (devide by 100). 1. exchange its place 100of10% 2. cut/solve it using 2nd raw(means) 100 will cut 100= 10 remain

5% = 5/100
Therefore
5% of x = (5/100)(x)
Always
Therefore
5% of x = (5/100)(x)
Always

x = 100% of x (of course)
x / 100 = 1% of x
x / 100 * 5 = 5% of x
(x/100) * 5 = 5x / 100 = (5/100)(x)
So 5% of x = always (5/100)(x)
x / 100 = 1% of x
x / 100 * 5 = 5% of x
(x/100) * 5 = 5x / 100 = (5/100)(x)
So 5% of x = always (5/100)(x)

I dunno.
