6(x-5)-(2x+5)=3(4x+1)<----Original
6x-30-2x-5=12x+3<-----Distribute
4x-35=12x+3<------Combine Like Terms/Simplify
-8x=38<-----Additive Inverse
x=-19/4<-----Multiplicative Inverse

-
Use distributive property:
6x-30-2x-5=12x+3
4x-35=12x+3
Add (-12x) and 35 to both sides
-8x=38 x=-38/8=19/4

Edit:
6(-19/4)-2x-5=-54
12(-19/4)+3=-54

-
so first use distributive property to get
6x-30-2x-5=12x+3
then add like terms on each side to get
4x-35=12x+3
move 3 to other side and 4 to other as well to get
8x=-38

you get -4.75
now check. i could be wrong

4x=12x+38
-8x=38
x=-38/8
