Whatever you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side.

3+2x = 11-2x
+2x +2x [add 2 to both sides]
3+4x = 11
-3 -3 [subtract 3 from both sides]
4x= 8
/4 /4 [divide 4 from both sides]
x=2
