Someone spent $18.50 on supplies for baking cookies. The person sold his/her cookies for $0.75 each and made a profit of $24.75. I need an equation to set up this problem and need the answer for it to find out how many cookies the person sold.

This is a simple problem first off add up the amount he spent and the amount of profit then divide that by $.75 that is how many cookies were sold

Let X be the number of cookies sold...
24.75 = 0.75X - 18.5
==> .75X = 24.75 + 18.5
==> .75X = 43.25
==> X = 43.25 * 4 /3
==> X = 57 and 2/3
I guess someone stole a bite from a cookie...
24.75 = 0.75X - 18.5
==> .75X = 24.75 + 18.5
==> .75X = 43.25
==> X = 43.25 * 4 /3
==> X = 57 and 2/3
I guess someone stole a bite from a cookie...
