subtract 2 from both sides : 2x=1
divide both sides by 2 : x=1/2
so x is a half sub that back in to check!

"x" is used to represent a number not yet known. The equation you asked means you have to find the value of "x" in the given example. So 2 multiplied by 1/2= 1. So if "x" = 1/2 then 2x=1.
Therefore the equation above means 2 multiplied by 1/2 + 2 = 3. Which then equals 1+2=3.
Therefore the equation above means 2 multiplied by 1/2 + 2 = 3. Which then equals 1+2=3.

2X+2=3 using transposition method, transpose +2 to the other side of the equation. it becomes -2. so:
2x=3-2
2x=1
2x/2 = 1/2 using DPE(Division Property of Equality) divide both eq. by 2
x = 1/2
^^
2x=3-2
2x=1
2x/2 = 1/2 using DPE(Division Property of Equality) divide both eq. by 2
x = 1/2

Hey. :) You need to try get the x to one side by itself.
Firstly subtract 2 from both sides:
2x + 2 = 3 (-2)
2x = 1
Next to issolate the x by itself divide both sides by 2:
2x = 1 (/2)
x = 1/2 or 0.5
Hope this helps :')

2x+2= 3
-2 -2 (We isolate the x this way; what you do to one side you must do to the other)
2x =1
----- ----
2 2 (Now we are solving for x)
x = .5 (one divided by 2 equals .5)
-2 -2 (We isolate the x this way; what you do to one side you must do to the other)
2x =1

x = .5 (one divided by 2 equals .5)

If you subtract 2 from both sides, the equation will still be true.
2x+2-2=3-2
2x=1
If you divide by 2 on both sides, the equation will still be true.
2x/2=1/2
x=1/2
2x+2-2=3-2
2x=1
If you divide by 2 on both sides, the equation will still be true.
2x/2=1/2
x=1/2

Take 2 to the otherside so the equation becomes: 2x=3-2
Therefore 2x=1
Divide the 2 on both sides to get x on its own
X=1/2
Therefore 2x=1
Divide the 2 on both sides to get x on its own
X=1/2
-
Move the two over to get 2x = 3-2 --> 2x = 1
Divide by 2 to get the x by itself
x= (3-2)/2
x= 1/2 --> x = .5
Divide by 2 to get the x by itself
x= (3-2)/2
x= 1/2 --> x = .5

2x+2=3
=> 2x = 3 - 2 = 1
=> x = 1/2
Answer
=> 2x = 3 - 2 = 1
=> x = 1/2
Answer
-
1/2
-
2x+2=3
2x=3-2
2x=1
x=1/2
2x=3-2
2x=1
x=1/2
-
take 2 over to the right hand side........it becomes -2
gives
2x = 1
x = 1/2
gives
2x = 1
x = 1/2
-
1/2 this was dead easy, do some revision first
-
1.5 :)
-
1/2
-
1/2
-
2X+2=3
-2 -2
2X=1
Then divide 2 to both sides and you get x=1/2
-2 -2
2X=1
Then divide 2 to both sides and you get x=1/2
-
x = 1/2
