. only the denominator has been rationalized.......
I have to factor this for a rational function. This is the denominator. I have already factored the numerator.

you cant factor x^(x+5) any further... but if you mean transform to (x^x * x^5). this however will not achieve a rational function (because your denominator is not a polynomial function ie it has a variable (x) as an exponent) and without the numerator i cannot help you any further.

Ok as far as im aware that cant be factored to a rational function... however maybe i am misinterpreting the question? it would make more sense if your asking to rationalize the denominator... if so well you multiply your function by x^-(x+5)/x^-(x+5) which would result in (x^-(x-5) * (x^2+14x+24)) / 1... however this still isnt a rational function... only the denominator has been rationalized.
