14 can be expressed as the sum of 2 prime numbers in exactly 2 different ways: 11+3=14 and 7+7=14. In how many ways can 40 be expressed as the sum of 2 prime numbers?

Just list primes lower than 40

Now just start at one end & subtract each from 40 & see if the answer is on the list. Once you get higher than 20, you can stop because you've already made all possible pairs.
