How do I work this vector question

V^2 = 317.24^2+288.V = 428.Track = tan^-1(288.52/317.24) = 42.......
A plane is on a bearing 35 degrees south of west at a speed of 400 mph. A wind is blowing in the direction 10 degrees east of south at 60 mph. Find the actual velocity vector of the plane.

I have spent so much time on this I think it's time to plead for help.

Taking the Westerly vector
400cos35 - 60sin10 = 317.24
Taking the Southerly vector
400sin35+60cos10 = 288.52
V^2 = 317.24^2+288.52^2
V = 428.82 mph
Track = tan^-1(288.52/317.24) = 42.3 degrees S of W
