The majority of EE graduates will be employable, due to openings that develop on account of retirements, but the demand for software people will be much greater, so I think you should major in computer science with software (not hardware) emphasis.

Dave B. say: Those are both excellent degrees, which I'm sure is part of the reason you are considering them. Of the two, I would say electrical engineering would be the better choice, but the decision isn't up to me. An EE degree will allow you to segue into other engineering fields if needed, and EE jobs seem just a bit harder to outsource to other countries.

High pay is not the best option.
Over a working lifetime things change.
