If I have 9ml of 5x10^4cfu/ml bacteria and i want to make from it 10^4 cfu/ml again in 9ml , how many ml of initial solution i have to add to final solution?

Use the dilution equation:
C1V1 = C2V2
(5*10^4) * V1 = 10^4 * 9
V1 = (10^4*9)/ (5*10^4)
V1 = 1.8mL
Method: measure out 1.8mL of the 5*10^4 cfu/mL solution , and dilute to 9.0mL.
