I hear the answer is 32, due to the rule of 2n^2 but I don't understand how?! Ok so the configuration goes 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s2 3d10 4p6 5s2 4d10 5p6 etc...
I only count 18? A thorough explanation of this would be much appreciated as I have a great interest in Chemistry, and it annoys me how I can't find an answer to it!
Thanks a bunch!
