Sodium Hydroxide is particularly corrosive and it would probably damage the esophagus.In short, there are far better ways to relieve heartburn. It would probably relieve it, but then you have a much worse problem to deal with.Do not do this!......

I'd be extremely careful with this. While it would neutralize acid in the stomach, Sodium Hydroxide is particularly corrosive and it would probably damage the esophagus.

In short, there are far better ways to relieve heartburn. It would probably relieve it, but then you have a much worse problem to deal with.
