I plan on taking General Chemistry next semester. I am currently attending a community college and wonder if that makes any difference for it's difficulty. They have a developmental Chemistry class I'm planning on taking. My friend told me that he took the developmental Chemistry class and he said that it didn't make General Chemistry any easier because it was different. My sister, who is currently taking General Chemistry, said it's mostly math word problems. I am very good at math. Should I take the developmental Chemistry class or just General Chemistry?

Really depends on the teacher and if they're willing to help their students. I enrolled for it this semester at my community college and ended up dropping because the teacher was horrible and did not care, or explain things well and automatically thought you were an idiot if you didn't understand what he was saying. Not to mention, he had a heavy accent. So I would suggest going to ratemyprofessors.com and looking up the person teaching the class before you sign up for it.

it's hard if you don't keep up with the work. it can be a bit mind-boggling in the beginning (in some units at least) but as long as you keep up with the work and understand it really well it should be an enjoyable course!
