Everyone has observed that if the sun comes out immediately after a rain shower the puddles dry up much faster than if it remains cloudy. Explain at the molecular level why this occurs.

The water molecules are so happy to see the sun again that they dance the cha-cha.
...or
The radient heat from the sun provides enough energy to the water molecules to cause them to speed up and overcome the surface tension enabling them to leave the puddle.
