muscles are contractile tissue
there's smooth, cardiac, and skeletal
they're all composed of myocytes
they're all from the mesodermal layer of gastrulation
each myocyte contains myofibrils, which are long chains of sarcomeres, the contractile units of the cell
look up the sliding filament theory
or go to wikipedia's "muscle contraction" article
then go to youtube and look it up again

1.) Skeletal muscle.
2.) Not sure how to answer this completly but skeletal muscle is formed by myofibrils and these are formed by the special cells myoblasts. Myofibrils also consist of actin and myosin myofibrils which all come together to form a sacromere
