i got a normal thermometer and put it in a cup of boiling water (God i'm stupid!).
the thermometer broke because of the immense heat and the mercury spilled. the water was really hot and i bet the mercury probe evaporated heaps. i got a piece of paper and scooped it up but it just rolled onto my hand (i'm really clumsy). i threw it into the bin in my bathroom.
Now i probe have inhaled mercury, touched mercury etc.
what now?

Actually, I broke a thermometer as a kid, too. Can't say for sure how I've been affected, but obviously it hasn't killed me yet.
