Shampoo is basic and has OH- (hydroxide) ions, that gives it its basic properties.
Lime juice is acidic and has H+ (hydrogen) ions, that gives it its acidic properties.
After washing your hair with shampoo, using lime juice can neutralize your hair because when an acid is added to a base (your hair turns slightly basic after washing it with shampoo), the H+ in the lime juice reacts with the OH- in the shampoo to produce water, H2O, which is neutral.
H+(aq) + OH-(aq) -> H2O
The shampoo and lime juice loses their basic and acidic properties and therefore your hair wont be damaged from the shampoo, which is corrosive.
