After pollination and subsequent fertilization the ovule turns in to a seed and the ovary in to a fruit.
However, the fruit is so small that it is mistaken for a seed and called as such!

The flowers are pollinated by insects. The fertilized egg develops into the seed enclosed in the ovary wall which becomes the shell of the seed.
