Okay, so say that you are converting a random number like 151 ft. into meters. Okay so I understand that 151ft x 1yards/3ft x 0.914m/1 yard if you cancel and multiply divide blah blah blah you get like 46.0004 yards.... okay, so I understand that you are supposed to use the least number of significant digits in this calculation.....BUT which number would that be? I would say 1 or 3 but I heard that those are exact numbers and don't count. Sooo would I just use 3 significant digits like in 151? I always seem to stumble at this point because I'm not sure where the rule of exact numbers apply.

151 ft x (1yards / 3ft) x (0.914m / 1 yard) = 46.0004 m = 46.0 m
151 has three sig figs
1 yard is exact and has an infinite number of sig figs
3 ft is exact and has an infinite number of sig figs
0.914 m has three sig figs
1 yard is exact and has an infinite number of sig figs
When multiplying and/or dividing, round off the answer to the fewest number of sig figs, three in this problem.
