Ok I understand that prokaryotes are single celled organisms that lack nuclei and most organelles, meaing it cant perform a function. Then why is there such thing as photosythetic prokaryotes?? if it cant perform a function? Because I know Eurayotes have the organelles to perform photosythesis and are evolved from prokaryotes. But how can prokaryotes perform functions such as photosythesis and cellular respiration when they lack most organelles such as the mitochondria? Someone please explain this is gr 11 biology. Thanks

photosynthetic prokaryotes have unstacked thylakoid membrane-like similar structures for photosynthesis
and about respiration to generate energy in bacteria , i think it happens in their cytoplasm , and the necessary enzymes for bacteria are maybe dissolved in cytoplasm or present in 'mesosomes' of the cell membrance
