I would like to know the process in which cells get their energy. Thanks!

It depends on the type of cell. Different types of cells rely on different types of energy sources, and have different cellular equipment to take energy from them. All cell types use ATP as their energy currency, but the places where they get the energy to make ATP varies.

Many bacteria, for example, rely on glycolysis--that is, breaking down sugars without mitochondria--to get energy from sugars. Photosynthetic bacteria and plants, on the other hand, use chloroplasts to make ATP using the energy from sunlight. Eukaryotic cells use mitochondria to liberate the energy in sugars and use it to make ATP.

Hope this helps!

7am, cellular respiration in the morning
Gotta use the TCA cycle, gotta make ATP
Gotta have carbohydrates, gotta have mitochondria
Oxidizin’ everything, the time is goin’
Tickin’ on and on, everybody’s oxidizin’
Gotta get a hydrogen ion gradient
Gotta use ATPase, I see my ATP

The process is aerobic respiration, occuring in the mitochondria.

They get energy from protein
