If you release gas into a vacuum from an orifice, the gas will generally just stream away from the orifice, since there is no atmosphere to diffuse into.

In free fall the fart would propel you like a small thruster = ejection mass. Serious farting and burping is likely if you were just dumped out the air lock. You would be ok on the Sun lit side but cold on the shady side. It might take a few seconds to realize your breathing is not getting your body any oxygen.

They will take your gas child to the Oracle.
The Oracle will judge your fart on the Zencicle scale, and reward or punish you accordingly.

Space is really interesting but what would happen ignoring that he would die is that the air would expand so thin you wouldn't be able to see or smell anything. In space there is no mass, nothing to keep temperature its not cold in space because there is no temperature at all. Things in space get cold because the heat is sucked away. I feel like an idiot answering your fart questions but since it is backed by a legitimate curiosity i made an acception. But you would die immediately in space. There is no pressure holding you together you would swell and be dismembered probably.
