Is it really just an accident that our Earth is in the perfect position to sustain life, or is there a reason? I have always been skeptical about the world we live in. I'm am 15 years old and one of the thing that fascinates me the most is reality itself. I haven't learned all the information about how our planet came to be or how everything around us works so perfectly because I am still very young, but can someone give me a somewhat basic explanation as to why our planet is positioned in perfect spot to sustain life and have people like us. I have always been skeptical about it and would love to learn more about it. Hope I was clear as to what I'm trying to get at in this question. THANKS!

Random events happen all the time ... and though we consider ourselves lucky, rare things happen all the time in this universe because it is so vast.
There are many, many such planets ... that are "perfect" for life as we know it. There are very likely other planets that are perfect for life as we don't know it. Life occurs in some pretty extreme places on this planet.
One such location is at the bottom of the oceans where hot vents spew very hot water and minerals into the ocean (due to volcanic activity further down most likely). Life exists here ... and my have been the starting point for all life.
But given that, imagine a planet with water, but closer to it's star where water was the same temperature ... not quite boiling, but very hot. Life could exist there ... and would be perfect for that life.
So although we think we are lucky, that type of luck very likely happens all the time ... after all, we live in a galaxy of 200 billion stars and there are 200 billion galaxies or more in the universe. That means there are hundreds of trillions of planets.

We, and all life, exist here because the conditions here are conducive to life developing and existing.
