I wonder why, if aliens what to keep their presents a secret, they don't turn off their lights when they fly around Billy-Bob's and Winston-Percivil's swamp on beer and cognac night.

Please define dumb excuses. Pleas show where these sightings are unexplainable.
If there is evidence then it will be quite exceptional. Most sightings can be attributed to something from this planet. And for the life of me I keep laughing at the suggestion that governments are keeping aliens cooped up. We do not know what aliens would do if they came here. We cannot second guess that which we do not know. This government having control over aliens has a few issues. Think it through.
If they existed, why and how would they visit? As we cannot second guess them, some fundamental issues remain and they are based on what the real world will allow. Star Trek is fiction in case anyone wondered. So there remains issues with transport and detection.

Life out there in the Universe could very well exist. The odd are in favor of life out there.
HOWEVER.
Aliens visiting Earth. NO WAY. Never Happened. Anyone with an understanding of Space will know this. The problem is DISTANCE. Even at the speed of light it would take FOUR YEARS to travel to the next star system. No way a life form can sustain itself for the length of time it would take to make a trip through space.
UFO's 90 percent of UFO sightings are MAN MADE on this planet. The other 10 percent are weather related.

I don't hear excuses. Ancient Aliens on History TV has given enough explanations that aliens existed and visited our earth. (well, all that seems just an explanation more than the fact.) Area-51 is the place said to be the one from where American scientists contact with them.(again no evidence, still no denying) yes you're right UFOs are sighted enough times on earth, this is what made us think that probably they exist. Again I see no denying, it's just lack of less evidences about them. Even once it was said that NIEL ARMESTRONG saw something like human there.(was it an alien? No evidence.) so I really don't think that they made excuses it's just lack of evidences.

Surely there is life out there, but why would they come here in their flying saucers? They could observe us from much more comfortable distance.
If they can build faster than light spaceships, surely they can build space telescopes, and would be wise enough to leave us alone? They wouldn't need to abduct humans or anything like that.
