Will humanity ever abandon its home planet, will we become extinct

We will have to leave the earth for some reason eventually, whether it's from using up all of the resources or the sun destroying it (with the first one being far more likely to be the reason we leave) that is if we don't kill ourselves of before that.

It isn't so much a question of if we leave the earth, it's if we are able to find another planet to settle on.

there are a million different ways the human race will become extinct on all different time scales, even going up to the death of the universe. If I were you, I'd just try not to think too much about it.

I don't think we will become extinct anytime soon but if it does happen it will be our own fault. Of course theres the chance that a freak accident like a giant meteor hitting the earth and killing us all.

If a problem arises im sure humanity will find a way to get around it as we are a fairly adaptive race.
And if a suitable planet is found im sure it will be colonised just like the way land was colonised hundreds if years ago.

And if we do survive long enough to be in the situation where our sun will expand/die im sure we will all leave for another world.

Interesting topics. I have considered the matter myself and have come up with what I think the fate of the human race will be. I don't know if you've ever heard of terraforming but it's a very possible way of making previously uninhabitable planets, habitatable. As such and the ridiculous rate of our technology development rate I believe the human race will survive indefinitely and spread throughout the universe.
The only real risk I believe we face is killing ourselves before then before we've developed better technology because currently offensive weapons are more powerful than the defenses for the e.g. Nuclear warheads.
