Why does Saturn have gaps in its ring system

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-04-15] [Hit: ]
but not really happy with what ive read so far.Thanks-There are several causes for the gaps; one the causes is that there are large objects orbiting within the ring system, called Sentry Moons, that gravitationally clear circular areas in between the rings. Another cause, is gravitational resonance with outer moons.......
I understand that there are rings due to the roche limit, but why are there gaps? I have come across a few sites for this, but not really happy with what i've read so far.

Thanks

There are gaps because that's just how the rocks are arranged
