with the latest technology, shouldnt exploring mars be somethins very trivial?
-
Good. How much of your taxes are you willing to pay for that?
-
You are right, after a fashion. The technology isn't really an issue, although a manned mission to Mars would be risky. The real issue is money and resources. The Apollo missions, spectacular though they were, were not really good value for money. In the years since Apollo, the capability of unmanned space devices has gone up many, many times, with better computers, better cameras, smaller and lighter electronics generally, and so on. So the advantages that man has over machine have narrowed radically. Meanwhile, for example, the cost of the vast amount of energy needed to take man to Mars has gone up.
To take your question literally, though, the exploration of Mars by man IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW. It just doesn't involve sending men there, but rather sending ever more sophisticated machines to do the job for him. Sending people into space is romantic and exciting, but sending machines is the way to go if you want cost-effective knowledge.

Scientist tried to explore by Mars-rover mission and that was partial successful. The distance between mars and earth is too much and only by supersonic space craft this will happen. So wait for better.
-
It's simply too far away for us with todays technology. The average distance is 225million km, thats almost 100 times further away than the moon.Presents lots of problems
-
And what would you know about the ''latest technology'' ? In case you didn't notice, we're steering our way through a financial crisis. People have more on their minds than little green men on mars.
-
It is very costly and currently not practical.
-
We have the technology but the cost would be immense.
-
costly and unnecessary.
-
I guess they cant be bothered or dont have enough $$$$$
-
That'd take lots of resources..
