Why do people say humans aren't animals

Humans are mammals. Mammals are a type of animal.

Some people think we're a completely different form of life and it's those people that have underdeveloped brains!

More accurately, they say that humans are not "merely animals" - or that human beings are more than "just animals". No-one denies that humans are biologically the same as animals. But many believe that humans beings are spiritual as well as biological beings - a topic more suitable for the religion forum than the science forum.

The Bible says Man had a separate creation and was given knowledge of Good and Evil and Free Will to choose.
Some people believe their entire faith and their religious salvation will fail if they doubt or accept even one flaw in the Bible.
Pity.

I think they say it because they don't want to be called a rat or a insect or anything that seems gross or eats on the floor.

Ego...

Anthropocentric...

Pride...

Arrogance...

Hubris...

Speciesist denial.

I dont know anyone who would deny that
