I have been told on many and separate occasions: "The universe is infinite." and "The universe is expanding." But wait, if something is infinitely huge covering infinite amount of space, how can it grow larger? Isn't this the same as saying infinity plus 1?

Dont take anyones word for this. Seriously, i've never met anyone who's found the end of the universe, or even went searching for it to no avail.
My humble opinion on the matter is that the universe is infinite, but only because the universe is emptiness. Its nothing. You cant reach out and touch a universe or take samples of it to a lab for analysis or watch how it reacts with other universes.. By definition that means it doesnt exist. But neither does time, so wtf

ANY AND ALL energy in this universe is from those big bright balls of plasma. The universe isnt a container. Its simply the medium that the matter in the observable universe (two separate things.) moves throughout.

Edit: GET OVER it. The Universe is matter, energy AND SPACE, and it can expand infinitely. The universe is finite. If the universe where infinite, matter would fly apart because it would disperse to fill out an infinite space, which is impossible. The universe is finite, and it is expanding at faster rates with every passing moment. The reason the universe is expanding is because of dark energy.
