Gold (Au) currently costs $1346 per ounce. Calculate the cost of one gold atom.
Please help! I'm at a point where I can't seem to see the forest through the trees, I should know how to do this! :)

1] This is a trick in this question. The regular ounces we in the USA use every day are Avoirdupois ounces. But gold is measured in Troy ounces. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_ounce
A Troy ounce is about 9% heavier than an Avoirdupois ounce. THis is why the statement "An ounce of gold is heavier than an ounce of feathers" is not necessarily wrong.
2] 1 Troy ounce = 31.1034768 g.
3] Convert that to moles
4] Multiply moles by 6.02 x 10^23 to find number of atoms
5] $1346/ that number of atoms = $/atom
