Will the world EVER end

I'm not asking if the world will end soon or on a set date. I'm just asking if the world will actually come to an end. My dad told me "It has to end sometime"

Yes,but it won't happen for billions of years. The human race will be extinct long before that happens.

Matter and energy can be neither created nor destroyed, only changed in form, so the elements that make up our world will remain forever in some shape or form.
The world as we know it with biological life will end when our sun goes red giant and scours the surface of our planet clean in a billion or so years.
There is some speculation that the entire universe will cease to exist when entropy causes all matter to reach the same temperature, slightly above absolute zero, many billions of years from now.

Yup! The Sun is a star and just like every star, it will burn out which I believe is called a Supernova... Once it burns out, the planet will probably have seconds/minutes/hours to prepare for the impact. Being that we are orbiting around the sun we will either freeze to death or die by collision (we're not the only planet in the universe) since there is no gravitational pull towards the Sun...

Absolutely. Our Sun will grow hotter over time as the density of its core increases. In about a billion years, most life as we know it will probably be extinct. Two billion years... there probably won't be any surface water left. And, in five or six billion years our Sun will commence to fuse helium and expand into a red giant, consuming the Earth.

To Jesse: Our Sun cannot become a super nova as it is not large enough. The minimum mass for even a Type 1 supernova is 1.38 Solar masses.

When the sun dies, earth should die as well. If the sun becomes a red giant, or supernova's, anything on that level which WILL happen will destroy the earth.

I don't think it will come to an "end".

We'll probably just keep advancing on.
