Looking for quiet farming town to relocate to

Any suggestions? Going to raise giant dogs, goats, and chickens. Maybe a horse. Willing to move anywhere.......
Live in WI but want to relocate to a quiet, farming community to raise my kids. I love being around nature and animals and we generally keep to ourselves. I dont like places with lots of traffic or crime. A place that might inspire my writing (mystery/horror/romance). Anyplace historical or with an interesting history. Any suggestions? Going to raise giant dogs, goats, and chickens. Maybe a horse. Willing to move anywhere.

The area around Hannibal, Missouri has a lot of history, not only Mark Twain related but river life, slavery, Mormon history, company town (just south of Hannibal), native American history and so on. There's Amish communities nearby, old coal mining areas, farming, livestock and within 100 miles or so you have Abraham Lincoln history, German winemaking west of St Louis, Cahokia Mounds east of St Louis, mammoth fossil site south of St Louis, free zoo at St Louis and many more interesting places. Best of all, rural Missouri is a good place to live with decent people and no need to lock up the house when you leave or when shopping roll up the car windows, lock the doors and set the alarm when you go into the store.
