Hello again ! To answer what you asked (I commented on the question itself as well), yes, I do think a hyena would beat a gorilla, but to qualify it, I meant the spotted hyena. It is the largest and most formidable hyena species.

The white rhino is larger than the common hippo, the 2 species that coexist and the largest examples of each. Its hide is thicker and tougher, offering greater potential for protection from attack. It is more powerful too and it often has a sharp horn (often, not always, it may be a blunt stump). Potentially then the horn is a formidable weapon, one well placed stab could kill any of the large animals in africa. Unlike against your other opponents, the hippo jaws and teeth would be much less effective against such a massive opponent as a rhino.
But perhaps the best evidence of the outcome is actual encounters. In the majority of cases I know of, the hippo backs down.
