ok so this question may seem stupid lol but i have been wondering for a while now whether beaches have the same type of sand as what is found in the deserts. The reason why im wondering this is because in movies or even just videos featuring deserts the sand there always looks way more golden and softer & lighter i guess rather than the sand you find on beaches. So if you guys know anything please help me out thanks :)

Beach sand is courser and saturated. Desert sand is very fine and uniform. Very dry and hard also.

I think sand is sand, although the make up depends on the kind of rock involved. Lots of dessert is right by the beach. Desert sand would be dryer than beach sand, and probably the organic stuff, (plant and fish bits) would have have rotten away.
