Weird things in the sky at beach

I'm at Ocean Isle Beach and last night there were weird yellow orange things in the sky they looked like shooting stars but going to slow and had no tail. Its really weird. They looked like they were like balls of flame but I don't know.

I tried to find a picture on the internet but they are all close up which is deceptive as they look quite different from afar.
