Platypuses are hatched from eggs. They are one of just two species of egg-laying mammals.

-
Platypus belongs to a group called Monotremata commonly called egg laying Mammals ,it lives in Australia .Mother Platypus lays eggs which contain nearly complete embryo that developed in mothers body(28 days ) .Young Platypus hatches from egg with in a few days (10 ) , thus its hatching from egg is not similar to birds or reptiles in which whole development takes place in egg after laying .
