Joy R had a good answer.
I have struggled with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, trichotillomania, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. OCD stems from fear. It can be a specific fear like you're scared your mom will die etc. or it can be a more general fear like fear of something bad happening in general or it could be multiple fears.
people with OCD begin to develop "rituals" or "habits" which could be pretty much anything. In their mind if they stop doing their "rituals" something bad will happen that relates to their central fear(s). it can be very irrational and illogical and most of them realize that, yet continue to do so.

I have ocd. And i have to do the things that i do because i believe that if i dont something bad will happen. If you think the same you most likely have ocd. Also if you feel a strong need to do things a certain amount of times or have weird organizational methods and stress out if something is not quite right thats also considered ocd
