-6x >= x^2 - 16
Please show all your work
-
-6x ≥ x^2 - 16
Add 6x to both sides:
0 ≥ x^2 + 6x - 16
0 ≥ (x + 8)(x - 2)
In effect, one factor must be positive and one negative for their product to be negative. (For the product to EQUAL zero, x = -8, 2 of course.)
SOLUTION: -8 ≤ x ≤ 2
