I had a snow day today, but i want to know how to predict if you will have a snow day please help i dont want answers like "if you wear your PJ's inside out you will get a snowday that is beside the point and people do answer questions like that. MOST REASONABLE QUESTION WILL GET BEST ANSWER AND 5 STAR RATING!!

1) You have been having cold weather suitable for snow.

2) You have been having some type of precipitation.

3) It's snowing in the states around you to the West (weather patterns move from the west to the east)

4) The weather forecast for your area is calling for snow.

5) It "smells like snow". The air will smell fresh and crisp.

6) It "looks like snow". The sky will have a grey cloud covering.

7) It "sounds like snow". Everything seems to get quite just before a snow storm

8) Birds are flocking to the South.

Well you can predict a snow day by determining weather if the snowfall will cause travel problems. If the winter storm proves hazardous then your school district will probably be canceled.

just really depends, ice and/or over 4 inches of snow usually causes snow days
