What are matter waves

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-03-07] [Hit: ]
this theory mainly conveys the wave nature of light having energy given by plank E = hv.these waves do not require any material medium for it propagation. it is coming in mainly non relativistic theory (both mass and velocity are variable with respect to time)-Matter waves are wavelike description of matter. They are matter themselves and are not made of any thing else. Even electromagnetic waves are energy itself they are not made of any thing else. Yes the electric and magnetic field they carry are things with which we are familiar and produce in laboratory.......
and do they need material medium for propogation?
Please explain in detail.
If they don't require medium then they come under elctromagnetic waves?

it is a wave associated with particles revolving in an atom around nucleus. De broglie named these waves as matter waves or De Broglie's waves. its wavelength is calculated from
wavelength lambda = h/mv

h is plank constant.

this theory mainly conveys the wave nature of light having energy given by plank E = hv. (v is frequency of radiation)

these waves do not require any material medium for it propagation. it is coming in mainly non relativistic theory (both mass and velocity are variable with respect to time)

Matter waves are wavelike description of matter. They are matter themselves and are not made of any thing else. Even electromagnetic waves are energy itself they are not made of any thing else. Yes the electric and magnetic field they carry are things with which we are familiar and produce in laboratory. On the other hand the so called displacement in matter wave does not represent any thing tangible but when it is multiplied by its complex conjugate then the product is related with the probability of finding the particle, represented by the matter wave.

Waves of matter... Such as dust or sand.

Do they need a medium? Think for yourself. Could sand exist in a vacuum?

They don't 'come under' electromagnetic waves, what kind of sentence is that anyway.

Earthquakes.
