im not that great at math. Help and most importantly an explanation of this problem would be appreciated.7. One hundred is multiplied by a number between 0 and 1.A. less than 0.......
I'm studying for a really important test that i need to pass in order to leave highschool, and well, i'm not that great at math. Help and most importantly an explanation of this problem would be appreciated.

7. One hundred is multiplied by a number between 0 and 1. The answer has to be—
A. less than 0.
B. between 0 and 50 but not 25.
C. between 0 and 100 but not 50.
D. between 0 and 100.

-
D.
The answer is D because:
Say the number 0 is picked then 100 * 0 is 0 so the lower bound is 0.
If 1 is picked as an arbitrary number then 100 * 1 = 100 so the upper bound is 1.
All the numbers in between are possible since it is continuous.
D is the only possible answer.

Hope this helps

-
D is the answer

Explain:
FIrst of all the obvious numbers u have are 0 and 1 ( 100 x 0 = 0 ; 100 x 1 = 100)
so the answer is sure to have 0 and 100 so the options go down to C and D
Now for numbers between 0 and 1, there are decimals.
0.50 is a number between 0 and 1 (100 x 0.50 = 50)
So "C" says "but not 50, so the answer is "D" since 50 is an answer^ - ^

-
D.
The answer, D because:
Lets say that the number 0 is picked then 100 * 0 is zero the lower bound is zero
If 1 is picked as the number then 100 * 1 = 100 so the upper bound is 1.
All the numbers in between are possible.

-
the answer would be D

just multiply 100 by the numbers between 0 and 1.... (e.g. - 100*0.1=10,100*0.2=20,.......100*0.9=90 and in between there would be another set of numbers with more than one decimal point..)
the answer should always be in between 0 and 100! :)

-
well, you can just plug in numbers between 0 and 1 such as 0.5 which results in 50 so the answer would be D cause there can be many possibilities.
