Hi, I need help with these two geometry problems, so if you could can you explain to me how to get the lateral area , surface area, and volume for it.
1. The length of each side of the square base of a rectangular prism is 8 centimeters and the height is 12 centimeters .
2,The height of a prism with bases that are right triangles is 5 inches. The lengths of the sides of the bases are 9,12, and 15 inches.
Thank you!

Lateral area is the sides.
Surface area adds on the top & bottom.
1. Four sides, each is 8 wide x 12 high.
LA = 4(8*12) = 4(96) = 384 sq cm
Bottom = top = 8*8 = 64
Top + Bottom = 128
SA = LA + top + bottom = 384 + 128 = 512 square cm
V = L * W * H = length * width * height
= 8 * 8 * 12 = 64 * 12 = 768 cubic cm
2. Three sides: 5*9 + 5*12 + 5*15 = 5(9+12+15) = 5(36) = 180 sq cm = LA
Base: (1/2)LW = (1/2)(9)(12) = 54 sq cm
SA = LA + base + base = 180 + 54 + 54 = 288 sq cm
V = Base * height = (1/2)(9)(12)(5) = 54*5 = 270 cubic cm
